You install the NewTek Video Monitor and this library is in the Framework subfolder of the app. You get the library from the free tools on the NewTek website. I really like Wirecast, it is a tool that fits how I work and think.ĭazibao I looks like you found it. As soon as I have a NDI happy Wirecast, I'm going to give it a try. This stream has a small, understanding audience that has put up with me messing with new gear. I have a 90 minute stream every Monday at 5PM that gives the equipment a nice workout. So it is consuming that has been the issue not producing NDI. The ScanConverter has worked all along to send the M1 Mac screen to Wirecast on an Intel Mac. None of the Sienna Apps work to get NDI either. I have two apps that have worked with NDI, I bet Wirecast won't be far behind. Which I installed hoping it would fix Wirecast and other NDI tools. I downloaded a version of the Video Monitor on Dec 4. I am reminded of Adm Grace Hopper's nano-second handouts. And the M1 renders the same large projects FASTER than the 16 inch MBP beast machine. The Intel MacBooks start blasting air pretty much as soon as you hit the render button. Which is hard to do in some of the recording situations I have. Soundproofing is an art.Īll I can say for the new M1 AirBook right now is that I can DaVinci Resolve edit and render and Fusion for hours with no slowdown and obviously, no fan. Which means I have to keep the Mac away from the microphones. I also wonder about lack of fan on the AirBook. When streaming on a 16 inch or 13 inch MBP, I get the jet engine effect after a while. It looks comparable but quite a bit more expensive than the deals I got. I looked at but did not get my hands on the OWC. I got one of those incredible daily deals on the CalDigit and then a day after that one arrived I got an even more incredible deal on a second one. Any thoughts on when that might be fixed? I've only found one piece of software that has this fixed on an M1 as of today. As for that NDI problem, many people are having problems with that. The bottom line is that once the NDI incoming feed problem is solved, it looks like using even the cheapest MacBook Air is going to be a viable Wirecast streaming solution. □Īnd the new Mac's have wifi6 for the network connection to YouTube which is a solid improvement. So in that configuration, I have an extra thunderbolt port on my computer that I'm not using. However, I can use a single thunderbolt port on my computer connected to the TS3Plus to get power, use the ethernet connection for the private NDI network and the 1GB USB port to run my Zoom F6. I'm kind of disappointed in that from Apple. Therefore I will need to carry around this CalDigit tool too. I need 3 ports to do what I'm doing so in order to make my production work. I use 4 of them in my stream.Īs for the lack of Thunderbolt connections mentioned above, I'm guessing CalDigit is going to sell a lot of TS3Plus stations. The 14.1 beta runs on an M1 just fine with the same exception that 14.0 has.
